We all love left over 8x8 fabric swatches but what do you actually do with these odd scraps?
Here's an Idea: You make pot holders with them! Although I wouldn't sale these items, I am happy to put the fabric scraps to a practical use as pot holders. Our potholders get gross with use or just start looking ugly, even after a wash. When that happens its time to replace. You wont have any extra money in these, if you save your medium size fabric scraps and batting.
You need:
8x8 fabric scraps (the back piece slightly larger)
Left over batting scraps
How to:
Make a fabric sandwich with the top, batting & back. The backing or bottom piece should be about an inch larger than the top fabric.
Sew an X pattern in your fabric sandwich, from corner to corner of the top. Sewing a straight line stitch. Not what I have in the image marked with a crayon. 😂 I Just wanted to show the X sew pattern.
Once you have the X sewn, then you will fold your backing over twice onto the front fabric piece and pin or clip in place and sew. The back makes the binding.
