Yea, yea I have a skillet so what? Taking care of it the proper way is what! If its not taken care of properly, then everything will stick to it and the skillet can lose it seasoning.
If you must scrub it, I suggest a potato cut in half with some coarse sea salt (assuming its not rusted - it just needs a scrub)
You need:
Potato
Coarse Sea Salt
Paper towels
Crisco

1. Using your cut potato, add some coarse sea salt to the bottom of your skillet and begin the scrub. Once the skillet is clean to your satisfaction, you are ready for re-seasoning.
2. Wipe the salt & grime out with a clean paper towel.
3. Using your hand or clean paper towel add a tablespoon or two of Crisco to the skillet and rub all in the inside.
4. Bake in your oven @ 350 for an hour. Once it cools, wipe away any excess oil. You are ready for your next "pone of cornbread" in your skillet. Enjoy!
